It’s never a good thing when it rains in January. However, the trails seem to have weathered the storm. The fog was dangerously dense last night, and the ride home from the resort was very disorienting. The fog has now left, and the weatherman is calling for 12 inches of snow by Friday. The children are home from school today, and we are under a lake effect snow advisory until midnight. I’ll post an update as soon as I start to see flakes falling.
With all of the weekend traffic, I was hesitant on the trail conditions today. However, they seemed to have weathered the traffic very well. I passed the groomer on trail 7 this morning and there is still enough snow for him to work with.
The traffic this weekend was intense. There were sleds out all day and they were single file for miles. Between the regular traffic, the cancer run, and the additional traffic for the snocross and snow drift, there wasn’t a quite moment.
The weekend traffic is currently heading home, so if your looking for a peaceful ride, now is your chance.
